what is a mandala?

The meaning of mandala comes from Sanskrit meaning "circle." Mandalas offer balancing visual elements, symbolizing unity and harmony. Each mandala has a unique meaning. The goal of the mandala is to serve as a tool in finding your bliss, path, or passion as it symbolises cosmic order.

How to use a mandala
Mandalas can be used in many ways to calm your mind. Either:

1. Select a mandala that you are drawn too, select an intention for the mandala (eg: "I would like to know what my next step is for X", or "I would like to let go of past experiences" or "I would love to feel more balanced" etc. Focus on the centre of the mandala, allow thoughts to fade as the colour washes over you. If your mind begins to wander, direct your thoughts back to the beauty and shapes in the mandala. Meditate on the mandala for 4 mins, twice a day. The overall idea is that your intuition is activated allowing resolution or greater clarity for peace of mind.

2. By colouring in a mandala, the self-expression that resides in our minds is allowed to release and play. By playing, we open up a broad range of creative and intuitive processes that we don't normally experience in our day-to-day lives. It is play that will always open up our spirit, and facilitate a connection to our higher understanding and purpose. Simply its a fun activity!
